On most wikis, this group contains users who have reached a certain account age and/or a certain number of approved edits. It is similar to the 5 week / 50 post requirement on the forum for making request threads.

Here, this group is automatically assigned to all new users since only those who meet the 5 week / 50 post requirement on the forum can actually log into (and therefore create an account on) the wiki.
